They replaced Bournemouth, Watford which is relegated after five years in the top flight, and Norwich City that is relegated just a year back.

History of English Premier League (EPL)

Who is the best team in the Premier League 2020?

Liverpool with the Champions title is certainly one of the best teams but there are others as well. For example, take the newly promoted Fulham, West Brom, and Leeds that will surely give a good fight to stay in the top flight.

Here’s how the 20 teams ranked in 2020-21 Premier League

#1 Liverpool

Liverpool emerged victorious last season and they look confident to repeat their success this season too. Jürgen Klopp did a good job last season and his team looks more talented and tactically prepared to claim the title again.

#2 Chelsea

Frank Lampard had a difficult time finding a replacement for Eden Hazard but he made a good choice by bringing Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, and Kai Havertz to the team. If the trio can show their game, Chelsea deserves to be one of the top three teams.

#3 Man City

Man City’s manager is ridiculously talented but the good thing is that the City has Kevin De Bruyne that has been one of the best football players in the world. The thing to see is how much support he gets from his team to attack Liverpool and Chelsea.

#4 Tottenham

Spurs stands on fourth position but they are injured, suffering from poor play and lack depth. But José Mourinho is a talented manager that could make good use of an offseason and transfer window to build his team.

#5 Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes proved lucky for Manchester United as it is only with his efforts that United could finish at 3rd place. He became a crucial link between the midfield and the attack. Similarly, Paul Pogba had his best season. But the road ahead for Man U won’t be easy.

#6 Leicester City

Leicester has a strong defense and midfield that will help The Foxes in beating the teams on the lower-tier sides. It includes Jamie Vardy, the prized footballer of the last season. If Leicester City players can play their real game, they can certainly improve their rank.

#7 Arsenal

The Gunners faced a complete disaster last season and they need to find their form again in order to improve their performance in the 2020-21 season. They have a weak defense and they have invested in waste transfer in the past.

#8 Wolves

The Wanderers are good in many things like coaching, tactics, and transfer of players. But their talent has been the target of many teams. They have good footballers like Ruben Neves and they have great transfers like Matija Sarkic.

#9 Everton

The Toffees have been extremely consistent in recent years because they have funds to find competitive talent for Premier League. But they seem to fight for the top 6 positions.

#10 Sheffield United

The Blades are a classic example of outmatched talent but great coaching and tactics skills. They are capable of making a counterattack on any team but on the EPL table, they could be one of the top ten teams.

#11 West Ham United

The Hammers have yet to come out of the abhorrent performance in the last league. David Moyes is a talented manager that can lead his team to be one of the best on the lower-half sides of the league.

#12 Southampton

The Saints disappointed everyone in the last league but what is more disheartening is that they failed in the transfer window too. The only strong point of Southampton is they finished the campaign stronger than they started.

#13 Crystal Palace

The Eagles failed miserably in there despite having players like Wilfried Zaha, Christian Benteke, and Jordan Ayew in the last league. But their attack is going to be much better than that of the previous year.

#14 Burnley

The Clarets have little hope for this season but they are expected to do better talent-wise and tactfully. But they could have difficulty scoring especially against the defensive-minded teams.

#15 Newcastle United

The Magpies are poor because they are neglected by their owners. But their manager Steve Bruce struggled hard last season but couldn’t get the expected results and this year could also be the same for The Magpies.

#16 Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton could only succeed in retaining their EPL position in the last season. They fought well with whatever talent they had and this year they will fight to retain their stay by avoiding relegation.

#17 Leeds United

The Peacocks are here to stay in the EPL in the present as well as the coming seasons. And this is evident from the smart moves they made at the transfer window to strengthen their position in the league.

#18 Aston Villa

Lions had a terrible season last year and the only hope for them was that they could retain their position in the EPL. While they are good at hiring players but at the same time, they have a poor rate of player retention.

#19 Fulham

The Cottagers are delighted to participate in EPL but they lack the creativity needed to outsmart talented teams. They have to strengthen their defense that is their weakest point.

#20 West Brom

WBA is no match for the other contestants of the Premier League and it will be a miracle if this team improves its rank in the EPL. It is playing in the 2020-21 Premier League but it will have to fight to prevent relegation.

Conclusion

The twenty teams playing in the 2020-21 Premier League have their strength and weakness. There are three new entrants and the remaining 17 are the old players with rich experience in football. Since the present season is going on, it will be too early to make an opinion on a specific team. But you can assess the performance of a team from its past performance and form of players.
